City Employees Came Together to Spread Holiday Joy

The Holiday Season is a time for giving, and City staff embraced the holiday spirit this season.

Shop with a Cop

The St. Charles Police Department held its 8th annual Shop with a Cop event at the Target in St. Charles. Officers shopped for presents for children and their families, recommended from Lazarus House mission services.

Special thanks to the officers who participated on their own time, and to Target for donating wrapping supplies and offering a discount on gifts.

Police Fundraising Challenge

St. Charles police officers grew beards as part of a “No-Shave November” fundraiser to help struggling St. Charles residents pay their utility bills.

The officers presented a check in the amount of $2100 Lazarus House to distribute to families in need.

Fire Department Gives Back

Members of the Fire Department donated $500 to the TriCity Health Partnership which provides quality health care to those who cannot pay for services.

A Tradition of Giving

City employees continued their annual tradition of donating gifts to local charities through our Giving Tree program. The giving began in November with a collection for Big Hearts of Fox Valley, which coordinates Christmas gifts for children in D303. In December, City employees put together food and gift card baskets for two local families in need and collected school supplies for D303 children. Due to the pandemic we were not able to welcome community participation this year, but we hope 2021 will bring us all together once again to support our community and make St. Charles an even better place.
